What are 3 words people use to describe you?

Fair, Helpful and Fun (by accountant’s standards)

What are you most grateful for?

My family, my faith, and living in one of the greatest places on earth.

What gets you excited about life?

Travel planning and, to a lesser degree, the actual travel.  It’s easier to work when you have your eyes on an upcoming adventure.

What is the best advice you have ever been given?

Don’t sweat the small stuff.

What personal accomplishments are you most proud of?

I ran a marathon with my wife in 2012.  Never ran more than 3 miles at one time in my life, until we started training … nor have I since.  It was pretty cool to know that I could do it if I put my mind to it.

What do you enjoy most about accounting?

I absolutely love each time I’m able to sit with someone and help them strategize to save hundreds or thousands of tax dollars as they begin their dream of owning a business.  It never gets old.

How do you define success?

Have I helped make those around me genuinely happy.

What life lesson did you learn the hard way?

Parents know more than teenagers.  Somebody please tell my kids.
